However, when she arrived at the yagna, she was insulted and humiliated by her father in front of all the guests.

The Sacrifice of Sati

Unable to bear the insult to her husband, Sati jumped into the sacrificial fire, sacrificing her life to protect Shiva's honor. This act of self-immolation was a powerful statement of her devotion to Shiva and her refusal to tolerate any insult to him.

The Consequences of Sati's Sacrifice
